Emma is the Senior Programmes Manager at Curious Minds which places creativity and culture at the heart of education and other services for children and young people.  Emma is the Director of Create The Change and is involved with several projects, organisations and initiatives such as The Atkinson Southport, Arts Council England, Culture Connect and many more, currently chairing The Arts Learning Consortium.  Emma has previous experience as a Creative and Cultural Learning Manager and has taught Art and Design at secondary school level.

Bunmi has over 15 years of experience in the energy sector and is passionate about promoting Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) interest in girls and women. She has been a Principal Consultant at an engineering consultancy specialised in connecting renewable generation. Other previous roles include Strategy Analyst in oil and gas services, gaining experience of both sides of mergers and acquisitions transactions, in cross-sector stakeholder relationships, and in influencing and advising innovators and committees. Bunmi is now responsible for managing a net zero modelling team and developing a capability which enables the decarbonisation of the energy sector and serves on the Sustainability Advisory Group for an energy distribution company.

Helen is a registered nurse and currently works as a lecturer at the University of Liverpool. She teaches student nurses at the undergraduate and master’s levels of study. Her previous roles include working as a safeguarding adults specialist nurse in a large NHS trust and as a district nurse. Helen is currently the Safeguarding Lead Trustee on the board at Venus.

Pat is a Bootle-based Family Law Solicitor and a member of the Law Society Children Panel. She is a school governor with responsibility for safeguarding and has undertaken voluntary work with agencies involved in domestic violence, victim support, community and church groups and Liverpool Archdiocese.

Helen’s involvement with Venus began 30 years ago at its inception. She worked as a health visitor and developed a working relationship with the organisation, supporting many families and women. As time progressed, her involvement grew, and she was able to link many families with Venus, where they received unique support at a time when life was tough.

Over the years, and particularly during Sure Start years (1999-2008), community health and Venus, among other organisations, worked in close partnership. Helen was the multi-agency home visiting clinical lead for the Sure Start programme. The programme made a significant impact on the lives of families and children.

Barbara is a longstanding member of the Venus Trustee Board. She is a qualified person-centred counsellor, development coach and mentor. Her career in both the public and private sectors spans over 40 years. Her roles in Service Management have focused on improving the customer experience. Barbara brings a wealth of experience to all aspects of Business Management. She has an MSc in the Management of Change.
